About HappyCamper

A campfire for recipes, not a food magazine.

HappyCamper Cooking is where we keep the recipes that we and our friends actually make. Not aspirational recipes. Not tested-12-times recipes. Actual recipes, written down the way they happened — including the ones where the measurements are "eyeball vibe" and the instructions include "filter cucumber somehow."

Some of these recipes are genuinely great. Some are cautionary tales preserved for posterity. We believe both deserve a home. A recipe that says "your guess is as good as mine" for the salt is more honest than most cookbooks.

🏕️ Camp rules

  • 🍳 Write recipes the way you actually made them.
  • 🔥 Bad recipes are welcome. Dishonest recipes are not.
  • 🧭 Credit the original camper if you riff on their dish.
  • 🦝 Leave the campsite (and kitchen) cleaner than you found it.
